SUITABLE FOR
Confident, fit cyclists comfortable on Grade 3 trail. The gorge includes a 13 km backcountry section – no easy exit once you’re in. Helmets mandatory. Keep left – two-way trail throughout.
HIGHLIGHTS
Ride through the dramatic Kawarau Gorge with turquoise river views, historic suspension bridges, and gold mining heritage. The route from Gibbston back to Bannockburn finishes in the heart of Central Otago wine country.
ITINERARY
9:00 am – Depot opens. Arrive for bike fitting and briefing.
10:00 am – shuttle departs to Gibbston.
10:30 am -Arrive Gibbston. Collect your bike and start riding.
Ride back to Bannockburn at your own pace (3–4 hrs).
Return hire bike at Bannockburn depot on arrival.
