Confident, fit cyclists comfortable on Grade 2-3 trail. The gorge includes a 13 km backcountry section – no easy exit once you’re in. Helmets mandatory. E-bikes must be fully charged. Keep left – two-way trail throughout.

Ride the Kawarau Gorge at your own pace. Experience the dramatic canyon, turquoise river, suspension bridges and gold mining history. Return in our shuttle to Gibbston Valley in the afternoon.

  • 10:30 – 11:30am – Meet us at Kinross for bike setup and briefing
  • Depart into the gorge as you head through to Bannockburn
  • Return your bike to our Bannockburn depot.
  • 3:30 pm – Shuttle departs for Gibbston Valley
  • 4:00 pm – Arrive Gibbston Valley
  • Hire bike – delivered to Gibbston Valley
  • Helmet
  • Puncture repair kit and pump
  • Chain repair kit
