This tour is suitable for riders of all abilities. The first section follows the River Track from Clyde to Alexandra, which includes some gentle climbs, descents, and narrower stretches. You’ll need to feel confident cycling on varied terrain.

ITINERARY
Otago Central Rail Trail winery cycle tour – The DeVineCycle
- 10.00 am. Meet at our Clyde depot for a trip briefing and personalised bike fit. You’re welcome to start earlier, but note that most vineyards open at 11:00 am. If you have time to spare, enjoy a coffee in Clyde or cycle up to the Clyde Hydro Dam lookout for a stunning view.
- Your Day, Your Way: We’ll provide itinerary suggestions and you can make your bookings in advance. Monte Christo Winery, open seven days, will be included in your itinerary at a pre-arranged time.
- Depart for your first winery via the scenic River Track that runs alongside the Mata-Au (Clutha) river
- Enjoy lunch at one of Alexandra’s many inviting cafés
- Return to Clyde along the famous Otago Central Rail Trail towards Ruru and Monte Christo Wineries
- Take loads of photos and create fabulous memories
- Return your bikes by 5pm at the latest.
